1971 – 50th Anniversary Poster

1971 Polaris Poster - Starfire Kids - Midnight Blue Express

1971 was the year of the alcohol burners. Shortly before 1971, Greg Grahn figured out the magic formula of how much to drill out the jets in the carbs to make the go-go juice work. The net effect was a motor that ran as cool as if it was liquid cooled, and ran a whole lot faster.

1971 was another dominate year for the Polaris race team with Eastman winning the grueling Hodag race, Lindblad winning the Winnipeg to St. Paul I-500 to highlight a great season.

It wasn’t just a great year for the team… local drivers running the new Polaris TX racked up victories from coast to coast to and all over Canada.
