What you’re looking at is the original flyer for the original release of Starfire Kids – Midnight Blue Express at the Polaris Experience Center in Roseau, Minnesota on August 3rd of 2013. Hard to believe it’s been almost eight years!!
Honestly that was one of the best days of my life; The turnout blew away all my expectations and I think that was largely because of Aaron Johnson and the tireless efforts of Karolyn Eastman. They did some promoting, as did the Experience Center. So many great sleds came to be put on display that it was spectacular.
Seeing almost everyone in the book there for the book signing was like watching history walk out of my brain and into the grill next to the Experience Center, where we had a giant U-shaped table setup for them to all line and start signing.
Little known fact about that day: Someone asked if I would open a tab for them to get some coffee and cokes, that escalated for some into an open bar, and boy did I get an unexpected bill! But I was darn proud to pay it as just a tiny way to say thank you to all those people for sitting through the interviews and coming to the party. It was amazing.
