Craig Rollins was a star-stuck sixteen year old kid at the race at Bass Park in Bangor, Maine in 1977.
“I don’t think I’ll ever forget the thrill of being in the crowded room (driver sign in maybe?) at the Bass Park when suddenly there was a clamor; the crowd parted and the entire Polaris team made a jovial, raucous entrance. I couldn’t believe I was lucky enough to be so close to the guys I admired so much.”
Talk about fortunate – Craig was able to get all three drivers at that time to sign the promo photo – and he’s kept it all these years as one of his fondest memories.
A year later he got the 1978 picture from the race at Scarborough Downs in Scarborough, Maine.
Very rare indeed – I have one with all the signatures – these are the only two I’ve seen with Bunke, Hulings and Thorsen’s autograph.
