Well done article from our friends at Snowtech on the iconic 1977 Polaris TXL, complete with some GREAT, never before seen photos!
After losing the 1976 Winnipeg to St. Paul race to a liquid-cooled John Deere, Polaris stepped up the development of their TXL, geared towards a sled that could be just as good at racing cross-country as it would be for trail riding.
The result was one of the best sleds ever built in Roseau with an amazing motor that, with a little work, could reach astonishing speeds. In fact, Archie Simonson was clocked at 107 MPH during a race in Wisconsin.
There are some GREAT, never before seen photos in this story!
