Larry Rugland 1975

Larry Rugland 1975.

1975 was arguably Larry Rugland’s best year as a Polaris factory racer. He would win the overall points total for the year with impressive wins in 340, 440 and 650 classes the entire season. Larry went on to be part of PRO-5, the Roseau firm that fueled winning Polaris racers for decades. He struck out on his own, setting up shop in Wisconsin and has been building the best of the best race motors and chassis ever since.

Larry Rugland, Jim Bernat and Don Omdahl where so dominant in 1975 on their Polaris Starfires that the press just started referring to them as those “Starfire Kids”.
